I'm posting this SPECIFICALLY for jaded_jamie because I know he's dying for another glimpse inside the funhouse mirror that passes for my psyche. This song was playing when my husband and I were making up after our very first fight. No, not that kind of making up. Pervs. But he sang it to me and that's why this is our song.

Because this is adult song and because not everyone appreciates Youtube vids all over their flist, I'm placing this behind the cut. Jamie, I demand to be psychoanalyzed now. :P

I see your horrific jealousy of our Queen, language and vowel usage and it doesn’t suit you. :-p You just have to accept your country is just not great enough to have a Monarchy yet. But then you’re a very young nation. I mean you’ve been around about as long as we have had slavery abolished here so it’s usual to have some teething troubles ;)

GMT means “Greenwich Mean Time” – The standard by which all clocks in the entire world are set…. English time basically :-p

If you’re in the same time zone as T I believe that is GMT -5 so 3 here should be about 10am your time. Is that good for you?

I think your connection must be blocking it. If you're on a public or work computer, sometimes the ISP will block certain web addresses. Because there is literally no other reason why this shouldn't work.

Anyways, the song is "Down with the sickness" by Disturbed. Yeah, really says it all right there, doesn't it? I'll accept any interpretation except Freudian (old fraud!). Srsly, one day I shall have my life analyzed by a Jungian and see if I can stand myself afterwards.

Well that was a disturbing song on the whole LOL!

It shows a tendency to a sub dom relationship where all the (best bits) of wrong are brought out in one or both of the people who this song is dedicated to ;-)

Oh and for the record? We concur with your analysis. Not the snotty Royal We, though. My husband and I might be unbalanced but we haven't reached quite the level of neuroticism wherein we refer to a singular being in the third person. We leave that to your nutjob Queen. She's good at precisely that sort of thing.

Another for the record: Elizabeth Deuce was a stone-cold fox in her twenties. Totes a hottie. Too bad she got stuck with a ridiculous husband and tragic children because she was hotter than Helen Mirren in the day.

Royals have the right to be snotty. They're Royal. By birth they're better than us in every way.

And I completely understand your inability to like the etiquette of the Royal we. I believe it stems from the Monarch being ordained by God, so when they say that they’re referring to “God and I”

I don’t understand the Royal we myself, but then, the Monarch is our social better,. How could we possibly fathom their wonderful and wise ways? :)

You don’t like Freud? Despite him being the man who created the model of the mind and psyche of which all psychoanalysis is based upon? The very meaning of subconscious (layman’s term), unconscious, ID, ego, super ego as we understand and use today is all directly taken from his work. Without which most modern psychiatry and psychological understanding now stems. I realise some people have a problem with penis envy but I find his work to be well grounded and valid in usage :-p

It really, really was. And no, I don't like Freud. His work is indeed the basis of modern psychoanalysis, but honestly there isn't any substantive evidence to show that psychoanalysis is an effective form of treatment. His obsession with the reproductive and excretive functions of the body and how they relate to the function of the human mind/personality is...disturbing, a bit. Plus his tendency to be a misogynist...he's like Nietzsche, if Nietzsche were more concerned with breastfeeding as a form of child abuse instead of illuminating the path to the ubermensch. Which is funny because I love Nietzsche for his intellectual impression of a crackhead

Yeah. Freud bad. Oh God. You're Freudian, aren't you? I knew one day I'd run afoul of a Freudian. Somehow I pictured it happening more dramatically, though. Very Spaghetti Western O.K. Corral Kiefer Sutherland final words dramatic. Having it online feels like cheating.

LMAO! No I am not a Freudian. I work from many schools of psychology, I'm omnipsychological that way :)

But I do see great value in his work, use psychoanalysis regularly, I do think his work on reproductive and excretive functions of the body helped greatly our understanding of the human mind hehe! But I am also aware and sensitive to the fact that feminism often plays a role in the undervaluing of his achievement and life’s work and know it is not modern or always politically correct to consider him a great man in his field.

Now please excuse me while I go and become jealous of my fathers penis and try to undermine and kill him, with the intent of effectively replacing his role and when I realise this cant happen. Then instead build a neurosis and try to mirror his behaviour in an attempt to get Mum to want me sexually in the way she does him ............ And you can go get jealous of your Dad's penis, convincing yourself that your Mother must have cut your own off and therefore becoming a Daddies girl to covertly win his attention and love in the manner of which he gives it to your Mother ;) LOL!

So yeah, some of the things he came up with were worthy of crack!fic but the same could be said of all the greats of psychology.
