Do the British have a different word for goosebumps or am I hallucinating? I could have sworn I read/heard somewhere that the British call them something else entirely. Any help massively appreciated and inappropriately fondled... :)

I think it's "goose skin" or something like that, unless that's just old-fashioned American speak. I read that in an older children's book I inherited from my father's childhood. I know, growing up, we called them "goose pimples," but I'm sure that's not it. LOL

You aren't British? Huh. I always thought you were. *cuffs self upside the head*

Huh. I had no idea I came across as British online. Let's not tell my Irish-Catholic Grandmother that, mkay? She might be upset with me. :P

I promise I won't tell...unless I need blackmail material. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

Change of subject: [livejournal.com profile] dfasgiles says she e-mailed [livejournal.com profile] indigocrypt at indigodiaries@livejournal.com, but she hasn't gotten confirmation, so she's worried her message didn't get through.

I wanted to vote for your layout, too, but...you're one of the people who's been voted for too many times already. *pout*

I'd leave a comment at the nominating entry, just as a confirmation. It may be that they just haven't updated, but this way you can be sure they get the message. And I'm overvoted? How the heck did that happen?? Wow.

Thanks for the compliment, tho. I'm not sure I'd be eligible for the layout one, since I didn't design my layout. I just did the banner. :)

Most of my Firefly flisters are Brits; if you want I can post this question on my own LJ, they tend to answer these questions fairly quickly.

Goose bumps is fairly generic, but the other Britishism would definitely be 'goose pimples" - Weird but true :)

Thank you, hon! I knew there was another phrase but I just wasn't sure. And we can all use a good Brit-pick once in awhile... :P:

Brit here! 'Goose bumps' we use, pretty regularly. 'Goose pimples' also, as indicated. I'm hoping you mean that moment when your skin goes all wee bumps and maybe the hair goes up on the back of your neck!

I think what you're looking for is "gooseflesh."

For me the term I always hear used and use myself is goose bumps, but I have heard goose flesh.
I've not heard the others suggested as far as I can remember - but that may not mean much! I've just been learning about the origins of English and how it varies around the country etc, so just because we don't use them here doesn't mean it's not used elsewhere in the county.
That probably doesn't help does it!?? Just making it worse.. gonna stop now... *slinks away* ;)

No! No slinking away!

*drags you back with hugs and cuddles and candy*

I'm officially the suckiest because I haven't been an on-time judge and I'm so sorry, sweetie! Of course, in my own defense, we're almost entryless these days and I don't feel right handing out awards just because you (general you) were the only one who entered.

Still love me??

*purrrrrs under the huggles and scoffs the candy*

Don't worry about it too much hun, everyone gets busy! I've recently been lurking at feedmykink and you're doing a great job coming up with lovely dirty prompts ;D

Yeah. No entries at all so far this time. Guess no ones else fancys a cave!Spike. I will have to come up with something better next time. If only I had more time too, could spend more time thinking up decent prompts. I think I'll use one of the suggested ones next time....

Yes of course I still love you! *squishes*
