So not only am I a fanfic writing, episode quoting, my hed iz pastede on yay nerd of the first water, but I did at least 8 things on this list of twenty subcultures nerdier than Monty Python.

I have:

-been a huge Star Trek fan (every episode, every series: quiz me).

-helped run a Renn Faire

-went to and participated in Rocky Horror (every weekend, Highland Theatre at midnight and I always brought extra toilet paper).

-Obviously a Whedon fan (well, a Spike fan but I s'pose we can give Joss a bit of credit).

-have done media-specific gaming (i.e. Star Wars and Star Trek)

-OMFG, Magic. Also known as "cardboard crack" for the way it will shrink your dick and your wallet...I had a green/white/blue deck. Yes, and I don't care that it sucked. Plague rats are creepy. Plus, I always OD'd on mana anyways and died before I could do much.

-Oh LARP! How I miss it...I did Dagorhir (think SCA, but less cool), Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. I played Camarilla and Sabbat, every damn clan except Gangrel and Nosferatu. Saturday nights, me in my vamp clothes and Sunday mornings swinging a foam weapon. Good times, man.

-Fanfic. Must I elaborate? Really? Well, this one time...at flute camp...yeah, you know where I'm going... :P

So, eight out 20. Pretty respectable nerd cred. What's your nerd quotient? OH and don't miss the Doctor Who vid on page 2, where John Barrowman calls The Weakest Link show host "Mistress" and offers her a threeway... :)

Dude! You did Dagorhir?
(think SCA, but less cool) - only instance in which I think SCA could be called cool! Hee! I had friends who did Dagorhir and we ran a joint demo at a local ren fair with them. We got a lot of folks from Dagorhir joining us and started calling them our "Junior Varsity"...

I shudders to look at this list... I am teh hard core linux sysadmin heavy-weapons fighting larping geeeeeeek.

I did indeed do Dagorhir. I was a member of the Kingdom of Avalon for many, many years...up until Dagorhir got wankier than any fandom could hope to be. You're up by Cleveland...Pentwyvern, right? I might even know your friends, if you give me their persona names (because I have never ever learned anyone's real name ever). :P

I can't do SCA. That much nitpicking is deleterious to my health! SCA: Society for Compulsive Authenticity. But I do have a lot of SCAdian friends. You know, I'm kinda scared now at how many mutual Dag/SCA friends we have. Isn't fandom supposed to be like those Ghostbusters weapons with the never crossing?

Dude we probably do know some of the same people! *is scared!* :)

The thing is, mostly I know their SCA-names, which weren't always the same as their Dagohir names. Like Gladius the Alchemist? Gronk the Easily Amused? hee. I did have one friend who went FROM SCA to Dagohir - she was too competitive in the authenticity and hated what it was making her be. I respect that. I'm kinda an Authentanista myself. (TRUE Authentinistas lead by example and do not trod down on others!) Anyway, I can only think of her REAL name now... hrm... who else?

Dude, fandom is one big fat inbreeding family.

Incest *is* best, right? Uhm, I'm thinking, because you're right. Dag names and SCA names are hardly ever the same. Uhm, Granifar and Tzigana used to be the head of Pentwyvern...you know, back in the dark ages of ten years ago. Padraig (He's strict SCAdian, I think. House...Dunphailen (sp?)), Tykam and Skip-it...dude, I know waaaay too many medievalists. I even knew a female blacksmith...I cannot remember her name, but she went to the University of Akron.

We are nerd sluts. You realize this, right? Complete and total hobby whores...hehe.

Yeah, I know Padraig and Dunphailen. (That's where Gronk the Easiy Amused hailed from. And Sean the Irish Bastard, and Ogre, and that whole lot.)

Whee! Connnection! We must hold zee hands like family now! *air kiss*

I went and looked at the list... oh god why did I ever do Fantasy football? I didn't think it would lower my geek quotient. And Zappa? *siiiigh* But at least while I'm sorting my magic cards and preparing for the Buffy role-playing session I am NOT taping game shows!

Okay; the episode where Troi gets impregnated by an alien and has the baby within a couple of days, and the kid dies in the end. What is the name of the episode, and what season is it from? *g*

Season 2, early S2, episode is "The Child", kid's name is Ian Andrew Troi, named after Deanna's father, kid was some form of energy-based lifeform...one of my fave eps, actually. :P

You're definitely a bigger geek than I am; I never did any rp beyond one game of Vampire with my bfriend in college. I thought it was lame. *g*

And can you believe that they don't play Rocky Horror in Seattle anymore? I used to go at least once a month. It's really freakin' annoying.
