Lest You Think It's Only FanFic...

sevendeadlyfunI urge you to read this review. Just replace this author's character names with the names of any two BtVS/AtS 'ship characters and I bet you've read this story. Hell, I bet you wrote this story! I know I have, or come darn close to it! I have, and I'm not ashamed to admit it, enjoyed this story as fanfic on more than one occasion.
"This has to be one of the most campy erotica novels fanfics I’ve read, and after I agreed to suspend reality and go along with the absolute outrageousness - and the nonstop sex scenes and moist channels, I mostly enjoyed it."
Doth that not call to mindshapinglight's admonition that in order to enjoy kink fic, you have to understand that just before the start of the story, all characters took leave of their senses? I think it doth!

I tell you, I've read this as fanfic I don't know how many times. And, before anyone gets their My Little Pony panties in a bunch, enjoyed it. Whether or not you as the author intended your work to be campy, whenever two characters fight, fight, fight and then immediately stop fighting and fall into line as soon as the shagging commences? It becomes campy, by definition. That's fine, because me, I love some camp. Sometimes, a story doesn't have to be in line to rival Chaucer or Faulkner for wordiness and complexity. Sometimes, it just needs to be a good read. That's how I define fluff, not by cutesy-ness but by whether or not it's just a romping fun fic. So what if there's some BD/SM and bloodplay in the fic? Doesn't make it any less rompy...

And again, I maintain that if the names of the characters in this review were changed to fit BtVS/AtS, this would work for fanfic as well. So, the next time someone gets on you about how this or that fic isn't good or that fanfic can never match "published" fiction...refer them back to this review and let the good times roll. And write some high camp fic with moist channels and monster cocks...I'll read it and enjoy it, that's for sure!
