A/N: I'm seriously behind on this story and I apologize. RL has been kicking my arse and I've gotten a bit lazy as regards my writing. An extra-special snuggle to [profile] ladyvirgo1956  for sending me a motivating email! Thank her for this chapter...it wouldn't have been written without her prodding :)

“You know,” Willow murmured anxiously, “I don’t think this is such a good idea. Me doing a spell like this after my little…uhm, oops? Couldn’t I start out with something a bit easier, like restoring Angel’s soul?”

“Sure,” Faith nodded. “Except for the fact that his soul is all super-glued now, that sounds like a plan. Angel!”

Angel rushed into the room, weaving his way through a crowd of baby Slayers. After Willow had collapsed, Giles had been persuaded to allow the spell to go forth. No one knew what changed his mind, although Spike had dragged him into a locked room. Angel had been emphatic in his assertion that Spike had not tortured the Watcher, though Faith argued that being locked in a room with Spike WAS torture. Since neither party was talking, rumors were rampant.

Giles had insisted, rather ungraciously, that he be present when the spell was done. Hence, the continued presence of the Slayer SWAT team. A presence that was driving every member of the team bugfuck. Xander had flat out refused to be around that many people who tried to kill him and he kept to his room. Oz wandered down when he had a vision, and Spike, in a desperate effort to preserve sanity, sent out Slayer teams to handle them. Faith simply slugged any Slayer who looked at Willow cross-eyed and Angel…

Angel appeared to have regressed. Well, Spike called it progress but the non-vampire members of the team disagreed. He was Big Daddy Vamp, protective to the point of violence and affectionate the point of sexual harassment. Spike refused to listen to their complaints, saying that this was who Angel was inside.

“Look,” Spike explained, “he’s the head of the line, yeah? The proud patriarch and all that rot. But, he’s a vampire. Not exactly the type of Daddy to hand out sweets and ices. His family’s been threatened and this is how he handles it.”

“Okay,” Xander shrugged. “But if he grabs my ass one more time, he better put out.”

Angel finally reached the two girls, and he dragged them both close to him. Faith smiled brightly as Angel’s hands began to caress her familiarly. She really wasn’t all that bothered by Angel’s naughty touching, and it was fun to watch him put the fear of Angelus into the kiddies.

“What do my two best girls need,” Angel smiled affectionately, his hands doing an intricate dance across their bodies.

Faith laughed softly when Willow squeaked. Angel’s hands were, as Spike put it, a many splendored thing. Willow tended not to appreciate them or the familial affection behind the teasing touches. Faith might have been jealous, but she was the grateful recipient of an amped up Willow afterwards.

“The Good Witch of the West is feeling mojo shy, “ Faith told him. “Wants to know if she can try a practice spell first.”

“Whatever you need, sweetheart, “ Angel assured her, dropping a gentle kiss on Willow’s forehead.

“Great,” Faith smiled wickedly. “Wonder what will happen if she tries to restore a soul that’s already there? Think you’ll get a second soul?”

Oh man, she shouldn’t have done it, but it was so worth it. Stuttering stammering Angel was almost as much fun as Big Daddy Angel. Moments like this made Faith truly appreciate why she’d had such a crush on him. He was endearing and boyish, with a side of sexy.

“Stop it, Slayer,” came a rough growl. “I’m the only that gets to make him act like that. You got your own bit o’fluff to tease.”

Right on time, Faith thought. Well, actually about five seconds late. Spike and Angel weren’t glued at the hip. They were fused together. Faith figured it was because glue might provide them with a little wiggle room and neither of them wanted that.

Faith had to admit she was impressed with Spike’s devotion. B had told her about it, after the big crater incident in Sunnydale. Faith gave her sister Slayer credit; the woman had definitely mourned for Spike. But, she’d also been brutally honest in her assessment of their relationship.

“When Spike loves, he loves with everything in him,” she told Faith. “Every single molecule inside Spike loves you. He wants everything, all of you, nothing held back cuz he doesn’t hold back. And I…I need to hold back. I can’t love like that. He loved me and in my way, I loved him too. But I couldn’t give him all of me and I think that, in the end, he would have hated me for it.”

That was Buffy for you, though. Faith didn’t know if she had gotten hard from slaying or if she would have turned out like that anyways. Maybe a bit of both, that whole nature/nurture thing. Faith could understand Spike, his hungry desire to be everything and have everything from someone. It was, she knew, the only way to keep the emptiness away.

“Right,” Faith nodded. “No teasing your bit of fluff.”

“I am not his bit of fluff,” Angel protested. “I’m…”

“Mine,” Spike finished firmly. “We ready to mojo these chits out of our hair, Red? There’s only so much chatter a vampire’s soul can take. I swear, if one more of these stupid cows pinches my ass, I’ll eat’em and sod the redemption bit.”

“Y-yes,” Willow stuttered. “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.”

“Hmm, s’pose that fits with your new blue look,” Spike smirked. “You’ll do fine, luv. Just keep thinkin’ positive.”

“I am positive,” Willow asserted. “I’m positive this is going to end badly.”

“That’s my girl,” Faith said dryly. “Always ready to panic. Makes me all weak in the knees to see how prepared she is.”

“I just need the vessel,” Willow told them. “Well, the vessel and a few drops of blood from Queen of Quips here.”

“Ouch,” Faith winced dramatically. “Don’t let B hear you say that. I don’t wanna have a big battle to the death for the title.”

Angel rolled his eyes and strode off to retrieve the vessel. Following Drogyn’s advice, Willow had managed to find the perfect vessel to hold the Slayer essence. He still couldn’t believe that she’d found it at Wal-mart. But he had to admit it was inspired.

He handed it over to her, and she took it with grateful sigh. The night she’d brought it home, she’d placed a permanent magical seal on it to prevent it ever being opened. After all, she’d giggled, how bad it would be find an unbreakable object and to allow the Slayer essence to be loosed again just because somebody twisted off the cap.

Angel wasn’t worried about the spells failing. He had complete confidence in Willow’s abilities. But, he had to confess that sticking the essence of the Slayer in a thermos did give him a slight pause.

Ok Chaos ensues. An unbreakable container from Wal-Mart and a thermos on top of that. Xander had the right idea hide until it was all over. Man is this chapter confusing. I hope it clears up in the next one. Loved Spike's declaration about Angel. MINE! Loved it. And thanks for the thanks. I'm blushing here. Update soon.

It'll clear up. Not long till the end now...just a few magic words, a few naughty scenes, and all will be made clear. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for giving my arse a good kick. I needed that!

Hey! I googled that and everything. Thermoses are made from some super-strong polymer thingie that is totally unbreakable. I did the research! And, I just couldn't resist!

You know, I think you should write that missing scene. You'd do a much naughtier job than I would...you wicked minx, you!
