Nominations and other good newses
Aug. 28th, 2010 09:12 pmWow - I am almost MiA, except without being actually in any danger of anything other drama. BUT- I return with good newses.
1. I have been nominated for a hoo-boy! amount of awards :

At the
rwsawards, my fanart What It Means was nominated for the Still Pretty category.
Thank you so much to the wonderful person who nominated me. When I started fandom lo those many (3? 4? 900?) years ago, I had zero art skills - and my early pieces show it. Fandom gave me a safe place to learn and grow as an artist and I am deeply, deeply grateful to all the magnificent artists who gave their time and experience as critics and as fans. Thank you, really really.

And at
wicked_awards, my little profile color bar Spike is...naughty schoolboy love, based on some of my better manips was nominated for Best Banner.
My story What Dies Inside Us was nominated for Best Series and Best AU.
Desperate Times, my take on a soulless AtS S5 Spike teaching Lindsey a lesson, was nominated for Best Dark and Best PWP.
Also, Body Double was nominated for Best Het and Best Fluff and Hostile Fire was nominated for Best Slash. Both are stories written in response to
feedmykink prompts (OMLG, does anyone even remember when FmK did prompts? I miss that).
Also also, my Angel/Darla story, originally written for
girlpire, Between the Spirit and the Dust, has been nominated for Best Angst.
A big hug and squeeze to the person(s) who gave me so many nominations. I don't get much time to write these days, but these nominations are such an inspiration. Where would I be without all of my awesome fandom friends?
2. I'm sneaking this in here so
anxiety_junkie will notice and scold me. I signed up for another remix.
It's called Remix Duello and the premise is that your remixee picks the story for you to remix. You get no say - you have to remix the story they choose.
Yeah - recipe for angst? I think so. I chose Between the Spirit and the Dust, because frankly most of my stories are incredibly kinked out porn fests and that's not fair to inflict on a random stranger. Now, maybe the random stranger will like it, but without knowing ahead of time - I'm trying to be sensitive.
Although the temptation to pick the Spike/Drusilla/Connor fic and FINALLY get some OT3 love was...well, tempting.
So I am now at the whims of some unknown remixee. Plus side: I've had tremendous remix experiences before and I enjoy the challenge. Not Plus Side: I have control issues, there's a real possibility of failure and I'm starting grad school Monday.
Still love me,
anxiety_junkie?
