Feb. 15th, 2008 08:48 am1.) Rush Limbaugh and Whatever-Your-Name-Is Coulter Hosebeast? Get the Fuck Out of My GOP. I'm so sick of this idea that John McCain is a bad conservative because he doesn't shoot abortion doctors and help GM cheat on their taxes. See. I'mma OLD SKOOL CONSERVATIVE. I've read Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations...and I understand it. GTFO, kids and don't come back until you've learned the definition of conservative. I'll hand out a hint for the slower kids in the back: GOP doesn't have the word Jesus in it and conservative is not an automatic synonym for Christian.
2.) The death of 82 children in 13 years, while tragic for their families, is statistically insignificant. Stop acting as if there's a damn epidemic of kids hanging themselves in closets for the lulz. 82. 13 years. Not actually news. Why don't we focus our rage and hysteria on actual issues, like childhood obesity which affects 1 out of 5 children in the United States and can causes severe and chronic health problems? OH that's right! Childhood obesity doesn't have the tragiporn drama that "the choking game" does. My bad...carry on informing the public of statistically insignificant threats.
3.) Steroids are not a federal problem. I don't care how many RBI/GPA/TNT's Barry Bonds has (or how nice his ass is, either). His drug problem is not a federal one. I can (almost) understand the government keeping a watch on amateur athletics, particularly those that lead to the Olympics as those athletes are representing our nation at a world event. But Barry Bonds and the other smug no-neck dickhead are professionals. That means that their drug intake is rightly the concern of their employers and possibly (though I can't imagine why) their fans. Congress really really should get back to, oh I don't know, running the damn country.
Okay, I'm not better now. But at least I won't be doing this in my head all day. Srsly, this shit needs to stop.
