Despite rumors to the contrary, I haven't actually abandoned sunny Naples for a coldwater flat in London. I've only thought about it.

Plus I have yet to really determine if the coldwater thing is a metaphor or not. And also, why are bathrooms extra in London hotels? I've been making plans for a mini-holiday in London and all the hotels charge extra for a bathroom. I need an explanations.

Still working on Spanky's remix. It's hard. She's so darn awesome I'm intimidated and it's killing my creativity. So I'm working on a D/s Adelle/Topher pegging/masturbation fic to clear my head. And that is a helluva lotta slashes up in there.

In other news, my Handsome Husband is in Afghanistan with NATO for the next six months. He told me he got to say hi to General Petraeus in the hall the other day. I'm suddenly not at all worried about his safety, yanno?

Oh, and I got into grad school! I'm going for my MSW (Master's of Social Work) at the University of New England. Totally online, even. I luff the internet.

I was a bit nervous about the whole grad school thing. I had to write a personal statement and I was really concerned. I mean - if I didn't get in, it would basically be because they rejected my entire life. My whole life wouldn't have made the cut. How...mortifying. But apparently my life made the grade and I start back to school August 30.

As for the bathroom thing, it's because many of the hotels have bathrooms down the hall rather than en suite, because a huge number of them are converted private homes. When are you going to London? I've always had great luck finding places to stay that are nice and don't charge through the nose.

The bathroom thing is weird. Not gonna lie. It's weird. Bathrooms are not for stranger sharing - and before you ask, yes I have public bathroom issues like whoa.

We're looking to go at the end of October - around the 22nd. Just a quick weekend thingie for me and the boy. He wants to go to the British Museum to see the Rosetta Stone (he's a big Rick Riordan fan - bless the man for his historical/mythological bent). We'll fly into Gatwick and then gods help us!

Things is...things. Hubby's getting more hours now, which is good - and i think the kitten will go a long way towards making him feel better. We've both been in a real funk since our last cat died, as you can imagine.

I just emailed you a couple of hotel searches for London. Yes, I know you're perfectly capable of doing it yourself, but researching travel stuff is one of my favorite things to do. So there. :P

I'm all about having someone else research my travel options for me, because I am lazy to the power of lazy.

Plus, I keep finding terribly expensive hotel options and being horrified that it will cost me more per night to sleep in relative comfort than it will to fly over there (from Italy, obvs. I shudder at the cost of the flight from the states!).

Small hotels dont have bathrooms in the room and the water is usually always cold in those places. LOL It's horrible.

And I'm planning to be in London for a weekend - if things go well (and I'll update you if they don't!), we'll be there 21-24 Oct. Monster wants to do the British Museum and possibly The Globe and The Tower of London. We're flexible.

Any chance you could pop down for tea on Saturday or thereabouts? I don't know how long England is - time-wise, I mean and I'm American, so we're used to traveling vast distances on a dime anyways - but just let me know if it looks at all feasible.

And the remix! I forgot you were doing it. I had this crazy idea the other day involving a "We're Trapped In Here So Clearly We Must Fuck" little story with Spike/Angel - of course. But I was thinking that I would write it with the two of them, and then re-mix it into the same scene but with Spike/Xander. Is it crazy to re-mix something of your own? Most likely but nothing else I do makes sense - plus it's only porn so who really cares if it kind of sucks as long as there is boy!sex???

If you do end up finishing the re-mix I know it'll be made of awesome and I'll be forced to pet it for many hours while loving and sheeping you simultaneously. It'll be a thing. A whole thing.

Sorry the boy is sick. My mother has been in and out of the hospital for the last 3 months and now they have moved her to a nursing home for "re-hab" . Which is worrying the hell out of me. So I'm working for the next 3 days then driving to Georgia and coming back on Saturday to work again next Sunday since I haven't seen her in nearly a year and a half. *sigh* Life just keeps happening doesn't it?

Arianna also starts college in 2 weeks. Me = Old. Arianna = No Financial Aid. Me = Poor Because I'm Paying For Everything. Hopefully - Arianna Post Graduation = Successful Writer of Stage and Screen Plays. Which will result in - Mom = Proud and Not Resenting Money Spent.

Congrats on grad school. Even if they had rejected your entire life it would have only been because they were stupid.
